Aller de ville en ville

"Car ici nous n'avons pas de ville continue, mais nous en cherchons une à venir." (Hébreux 13:14)

Il n'est certainement pas mauvais pour nous de penser et de parler du ciel. J'aime le localiser et en savoir le plus possible sur lui. Je m'attends à y vivre pour l'éternité. Si j'allais habiter n'importe quel endroit de ce pays, si j'allais en faire ma maison, je me renseignerais sur son climat, sur les voisins que j'aurais, sur tout ce que je pourrais apprendre à son sujet.

Si vous deviez bientôt émigrer, c'est ce que vous ressentiriez. Eh bien, nous allons tous émigrer dans très peu de temps. Nous allons passer l'éternité dans un autre monde, un monde grand et glorieux où Dieu règne. N'est-il pas naturel que nous regardions et écoutions et que nous essayions de savoir qui est déjà là, et quelle est la route à suivre ?

Surely it is not wrong for us to think and talk about heaven. I like to locate it, and find out all I can about it. I expect to live there through all eternity. If I were going to dwell in any place in this country, if I were going to make it my home, I would inquire about its climate, about the neighbors I would have, about everything, in fact, that I could learn concerning it.

If soon you were going to emigrate, that is the way you would feel. Well, we are all going to emigrate in a very little while. We are going to spend eternity in another world, a grand and glorious world where God reigns. Is it not natural that we should look and listen and try to find out who is already there, and what is the route to take?
