Briller comme les étoiles

"Les sages brilleront comme l'éclat du firmament, et ceux qui rendent la multitude juste comme les étoiles, aux siècles des siècles." (Daniel 12:3)

Que la gloire et l'orgueil de ce monde sont vides et éphémères ! Si nous sommes sages, nous vivrons pour Dieu et pour l'éternité ; nous sortirons de nous-mêmes, et nous ne nous soucierons pas de l'honneur et de la gloire de ce monde. Dans les Proverbes, nous lisons : "Celui qui gagne des âmes est sage."

Si un homme, une femme ou un enfant, par une vie et un exemple divins, peut gagner une âme à Dieu, sa vie n'aura pas été un échec. Ils auront surpassé tous les hommes puissants de leur époque, parce qu'ils auront mis en route un courant qui ne cessera de couler pour toujours et à jamais.

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” (Daniel 12:3)

How empty and short-lived are the glory and the pride of this world! If we are wise, we will live for God and eternity; we will get outside of ourselves, and will care nothing for the honor and glory of this world. In Proverbs we read: “He that winneth souls is wise.”

If any man, woman, or child by a godly life and example can win one soul to God, their life will not have been a failure. They will have outshone all the mighty men of their day, because they will have set a stream in motion that will flow on and on forever and ever.
