Entendre Sa voix

"Et il dit : J'ai entendu ta voix dans le jardin, et j'ai eu peur, parce que j'étais nu ; et je me suis caché." (Genèse 3:10)

La plupart d'entre nous vivent loin de chez eux. Nous nous cachons comme Adam l'a fait dans les buissons de l'Eden. Il fut un temps où la voix de Dieu faisait vibrer l'âme d'Adam avec joie et allégresse, et il faisait vibrer le cœur de Dieu avec joie. Ils vivaient dans une douce communion les uns avec les autres. Dieu avait élevé Adam aux portes mêmes du ciel, il l'avait fait seigneur de toute la création. Je ne doute pas qu'il avait prévu d'élever Adam encore plus haut que les anges, plus haut que les séraphins et les chérubins, plus haut que Gabriel, qui se tient en présence de Jéhovah, et que Michel, l'archange. Mais l'homme s'est retourné et est devenu un traître pour Celui qui voulait le bénir.

Most of us live away from home. We are hiding as Adam did in the bushes of Eden. There was a time when God’s voice thrilled Adam’s soul with joy and gladness, and he thrilled God’s heart with joy. They lived in sweet fellowship with each other. God had lifted Adam to the very gates of heaven, had made him lord over all creation. I haven’t a doubt that He had plans to raise Adam still higher—higher than the angels, higher than seraphim and cherubim, higher than Gabriel, who stands in the presence of Jehovah, and Michael, the archangel. But the man turned and became a traitor to Him who wanted to bless him.
