Deux débiteurs

"Il y avait un certain créancier qui avait deux débiteurs : l'un devait cinq cents pence, et l'autre cinquante. Et comme ils n'avaient rien à payer, il leur a franchement pardonné à tous les deux." (Luc 7:41-42)

Très peu de gens pensent qu'ils sont perdus. On rencontre rarement un pécheur en faillite. La plupart d'entre eux pensent qu'ils peuvent payer environ soixante-quinze cents par dollar ; environ quatre-vingt-dix-neuf pour cent - ils sont juste un peu à court, et ils pensent que le Tout-Puissant va se rattraper d'une manière ou d'une autre. Ne laissez pas Satan vous faire croire que vous êtes trop bon pour ne pas avoir besoin de la grâce de Dieu. Nous sommes un mauvais lot, nous tous, sans rien à payer.

Very few people think they are lost. You seldom meet a bankrupt sinner. Most of them think they can pay about seventy-five cents on the dollar; some ninety-nine per cent—they just come short a little, and they think the Almighty will make it up somehow. Don’t let Satan make you think you are too good that you don't need the grace of God. We are a bad lot, all of us, with nothing to pay.
