Le soleil est vieux de milliers d'années, mais le gaz est nouveau. Allons-nous donc utiliser le gaz à la place du soleil ! Bouchez toutes les fenêtres de vos maisons, et n'ayez rien à faire avec le soleil ! Autant le faire que de renoncer à la Bible.
Elle est devenue trop grande ! Il n'y a pas de livre à comparer avec elle. Aucun autre livre ne pourra élever le monde. Si vous pouviez aller dans une ville où les hommes essaient de vivre sans ce bon livre, vous la fuiriez comme ceux qui ont quitté Sodome et Gomorrhe. Les infidèles ont-ils déjà produit un (John) Knox, un (John) Bunyan ou un (John) Milton ?

The sun is thousands of years old, but gas is new. Shall we then use gas in place of the sun! Block up all the windows of your houses, and have nothing to do with the sun! You might as well do that as give up the Bible.
Outgrown it! Why, there is no book to be compared with it. No other book will lift up the world. If you could go into a town where men were trying to live without that good book, you would flee from it as they who left Sodom and Gomorrah. Have infidels ever produced a Knox, a Bunyan, or a Milton?
