Et les choses qui sont méprisées, Gad les a choisies. (1 Corinthiens 1:28)

Remarquez que tous les hommes que le Christ a appelés autour de Lui étaient des hommes faibles au sens mondain du terme. Ils étaient tous des hommes sans rang, sans titre, sans position, sans richesse ni culture. Presque tous étaient des pêcheurs et des hommes sans instruction ; pourtant, Christ les a choisis pour bâtir son royaume.

Lorsque Dieu a voulu faire sortir les enfants d'Israël de l'esclavage, il n'a pas envoyé une armée, mais un seul homme solitaire. Ainsi, à toutes les époques, Dieu a utilisé les choses faibles du monde pour accomplir ses desseins.

Notice that all the men whom Christ called around Him were weak men in a worldly sense. They were all men without rank, without title, without position, without wealth or culture. Nearly all of them were fishermen and unlettered men; yet Christ chose them to build up His kingdom.

When God wanted to bring the children of Israel out of bondage, He did not send an army; He sent one solitary man. So in all ages God has used the weak things of the world to accomplish His purposes.
