Soyez vêtus d'humilité !

Soyez vêtus d'humilité : car Dieu résiste aux orgueilleux, et donne la grâce aux humbles. (1 Pierre 5:5)

Un homme peut falsifier l'amour, il peut falsifier la foi, il peut falsifier l'espoir et toutes les autres grâces, mais il est très difficile de falsifier l'humilité. On détecte rapidement la fausse humilité. Les Arabes ont un dicton qui dit que lorsque l'ivraie et le blé poussent, ils montrent ce que Dieu a béni. Les épis que Dieu a bénis baissent la tête et reconnaissent chaque grain, et plus ils sont féconds, plus leur tête est baissée. L'ivraie relève la tête, bien au-dessus du blé, mais elle n'est féconde que par le mal.

Si nous nous abaissons seulement assez bas, Dieu nous utilisera pour sa gloire.

A man can counterfeit love, he can counterfeit faith, he can counterfeit hope and all the other graces, but it is very difficult to counterfeit humility. You soon detect mock humility. They have a saying among the Arabs that as the tares and the wheat grow they show which God has blessed. The ears that God has blessed bow their heads and acknowledge every grain, and the more fruitful they are the lower their heads are bowed. The tares lift up their heads erect, high above the wheat, but they are only fruitful of evil.

If we only get down low enough, God will use us to His glory.
