N'y croyez pas ! Chaque fois qu'on entend l'évangile et qu'on le rejette, le processus de durcissement se poursuit. Le même soleil qui fait fondre la glace durcit l'argile. Le sermon qui serait passé à l'action il y a quelques années ne fait plus aucune impression aujourd'hui.
Il n'y a pas un vrai ministre de l'Evangile qui ne dise que les personnes les plus difficiles à atteindre sont celles qui ont été impressionnées et dont les impressions se sont usées. Il est beaucoup plus facile de commettre un péché la deuxième fois que la première, mais il est beaucoup plus difficile de se repentir la deuxième fois que la première.

Don’t you believe it! Every time one hears the gospel and rejects it, the hardening process goes on. The same sun that melts the ice hardens the clay. The sermon that would have moved to action a few years ago makes no impression now.
There is not a true minister of the gospel who will not say that the hardest people to reach are those who have been impressed, and whose impressions have worn away. It is a good deal easier to commit a sin the second time than it was to commit it the first time, but it is a good deal harder to repent the second time than the first.
