Jésus fut élevé

Et comme Moïse a élevé le serpent dans le désert, de même le Fils de l'homme doit être élevé : afin que quiconque croit en lui ne périsse pas, mais qu'il ait la vie éternelle. (Jean 3:14-15)

J'ai entendu parler d'une femme qui pensait qu'il n'y avait pas de promesse dans la Bible pour elle ; elle pensait que les promesses étaient pour les autres, pas pour elle. Il y a un bon nombre de ces personnes dans le monde. Ils pensent qu'il est trop beau pour être vrai qu'ils peuvent être sauvés pour rien. 

Un jour, cette femme a reçu une lettre, et quand elle l'a ouverte, elle a découvert qu'elle n'était pas du tout pour elle ; elle était destinée à une autre femme qui portait le même nom ; et elle a eu les yeux ouverts sur le fait que si elle trouvait une promesse dans la Bible dirigée vers son nom, elle ne saurait pas si cela signifiait pour elle ou pour quelqu'un d'autre qui portait son nom. Mais vous savez que le mot "quiconque" englobe tout le monde dans le monde entier !

I heard of a woman once that thought there was no promise in the Bible for her; she thought the promises were for others, not for her. There are a good many of these people in the world. They think it is too good to be true that they can be saved for nothing. 

This woman one day got a letter, and when she opened it she found it was not for her at all; it was meant for another woman that had the same name; and she had her eyes opened to the fact that if she should find some promise in the Bible directed to her name, she would not know whether it meant her or some one else that bore her name. But you know the word “whosoever” includes each and every one in the wide world!
