Si nous faisions tous honnêtement cette prière une fois par jour, notre vie changerait beaucoup. "Cherchez-moi" - pas mon voisin. Il est si facile de prier pour les autres, mais si difficile de rentrer chez soi. Je crains que nous qui sommes occupés par le travail du Seigneur, nous risquions surtout de négliger notre propre vignoble. Dans ce psaume, David est rentré chez lui.
Il y a une différence entre Dieu qui me cherche et moi qui me cherche. Il se peut que je fouille mon haricot, et que je le prononce bien, mais quand Dieu me fouille comme avec une bougie allumée, beaucoup de choses que je ne connaissais peut-être pas vont se révéler.

There is a difference between God searching me and my searching myself. I may search my bean, and pronounce it all right, but when God searches me as with a lighted candle, a good many things will come to light that perhaps I knew nothing about.
