"Dieu est amour"

"Dieu est amour". (1 Jean 4:8)

Si seulement je pouvais faire comprendre aux hommes le vrai sens des paroles de l'apôtre Jean - "Dieu est amour" - je prendrais ce texte unique, et j'irais de par le monde proclamer cette glorieuse vérité. Si vous pouvez convaincre un homme que vous l'aimez, vous avez gagné son cœur.

Si nous pouvions vraiment faire croire aux gens que Dieu les aime, comme nous devrions les trouver entassés dans le royaume des cieux ! Le problème, c'est que les hommes pensent que Dieu les déteste ; et donc ils lui tournent continuellement le dos.

If I could only make men understand the real meaning of the words of the Apostle John—“God is love”— I would take that single text, and would go up and down the world proclaiming this glorious truth. If you can convince a man that you love him you have won his heart.

If we could really make people believe that God loves them, how we should find them crowding into the kingdom of heaven! The trouble is that men think God hates them; and so they are continually turning their backs on Him.
