Se préserver

Sortez donc du milieu d'eux, et séparez-vous, dit le Seigneur, et ne touchez pas à ce qui est impur ; et je vous accueillerai. (2 Corinthiens 6:17)

Je crois qu'un homme chrétien doit mener une vie séparée. La ligne de démarcation entre l'Église et le monde est presque effacée aujourd'hui. Je n'ai aucune sympathie pour l'idée qu'il faille remonter un vieux registre d'église moisi pour savoir si un homme est membre de l'église ou non.

Un homme doit vivre de manière à ce que tout le monde sache qu'il est chrétien. La Bible nous dit de mener une vie séparée. Vous pouvez perdre de l'influence, mais vous la gagnerez en même temps. Je suppose que Daniel a été l'homme le plus impopulaire de Babylone à une certaine époque, mais, grâce à Dieu, il a survécu à tous les autres hommes de son temps.

I believe that a Christian man should lead a separated life. The line between the church and the world is almost obliterated to-day. I have no sympathy with the idea that you must shunt up an old musty church record in order to find out whether a man is a member of the church or not.

A man ought to live so that everybody will know he is a Christian. The Bible tells us to lead a separate life. You may lose influence, but you will gain it at the same time. I suppose Daniel was the most unpopular man in Babylon at a certain time, but, thank God, he has outlived all the other men of his day.
