Il était riche, mais il s'est appauvri pour vous (2 Corinthiens 8:9)

Ce pauvre monde gémit et soupire de sympathie - la sympathie humaine. Je suis sûr que c'est cela, dans la vie du Christ, qui a touché le cœur des gens ordinaires. Il s'est fait un avec eux. Celui qui était riche pour notre bien est devenu pauvre. Il est né dans la crèche afin de se mettre au niveau des plus faibles.

This poor world is groaning and sighing for sympathy—human sympathy. I am quite sure it was that in Christ’s life which touched the hearts of the common people. He made Himself one with them. He who was rich for our sakes became poor. He was born in the manger so that He might put Himself on a level with the lowest of the low.
