En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, celui qui écoute ma parole et qui croit en celui qui m'a envoyé, a la vie éternelle et ne sera pas condamné, mais il est passé de la mort à la vie. (Jean 5:24)

Notez que la différence entre un croyant et un non-croyant se trouve ici. Un non-croyant vit dans son jour, et il n'a rien d'autre qu'une longue nuit sombre et éternelle à attendre avec impatience ; un chrétien vit maintenant dans sa nuit, et il a un grand matin qu'il attend avec impatience.

Le jour est devant, la gloire est devant, le meilleur de la vie est devant ; il n'est pas derrière. C'est l'enseignement de l'Écriture. Pour un homme dont la vie est cachée avec le Christ en Dieu, le jugement est déjà passé ; il n'entrera pas en jugement. Christ a été jugé pour moi, et le jugement est derrière moi, et non devant moi.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

Note that the difference between a believer and unbeliever is right here. An unbeliever is living in his day, and he has nothing but a long dark eternal night to look forward to; a Christian is now living in his night, and he has a grand morning that he is looking forward to.

The day is ahead, the glory is ahead, the best of life is ahead; it is not behind. That is the teaching of Scripture. For a man whose life is hid with Christ in God, judgment is already passed; he will not come into judgment. Christ was judged for me, and judgment is behind me, not before me.
